ROUND ON HOLD: 13/5 – 15/5/2022
The persistent rain this week has once again impacted the condition of many fields across the Macarthur region. With many fields unlikely to recover in time for weekend matches, the MFA has made the difficult decision to place all local competition and MiniRoos matches scheduled from Friday, 13 May – Sunday 15 May 2022 on hold until further notice. Whilst we have taken this action, we do hope to see some football take place this weekend at grounds that are deemed safe and available for play (if any). The MFA are currently working on scheduling some of the 180 matches that are on hold from the weekend of Friday, 29 April – Sunday 1 May 2022 at available grounds, including Nott Oval. Clubs will be updated as work on this progresses today. Regarding State Cup matches which commence on Sunday, 15 May, host venues Doohan Reserve and Emerald Hills have both been closed by Camden Council for the weekend. We are working with Football NSW and the Narellan Rangers SC to move selected matches to Nott Oval. The aim is to play as many of these matches as possible so not to further impact our own local competitions. Lastly, all Round 1 fixtures (Friday, 1 April – Sunday, 3 April 2022) have now been reinstated and will take place during the weekend of Friday, 10 – Sunday 12 June 2022. Please check the fixtures for your new game information. Round 2 fixtures (Friday, 8 – Sunday, 10 April) remain on hold. It has been a difficult start for community sport so far, particularly after the devastating impact the global health pandemic had on all of us over the past two seasons. We share the disappointment with the Football Family. Together with the local clubs, we will work to reinstate as many matches as possible over the course of the season. Thank you for your understanding and support.
